1

Discounted MCLE

LABA offers several continuing legal education (CLE) courses each year. Excellent presentations on every topic of law are offered at convenient times throughout the year, including presentations that will fulfill the law ethics/professional responsibility requirement. The cost of LABA membership is much less than a single seminar, which can often cost $500-$1,000, not including travel. The money you save obtaining your MCLE requirements through LABA will more than offset the cost of your membership dues.
2

Sell Goods OnlineMentoring Program

LABA offers a lawyer-to-lawyer mentoring program. This lawyer mentoring program creates opportunities for experienced lawyers to guide new lawyers in developing the practical skills and judgment to practice in a highly competent manner and to instill the ethical and professional values that characterize excellent lawyers.
3

Networking Opportunities

You will find that membership in LABA and participation in its many activities offers wonderful opportunities for networking with fellow lawyers from all areas of practice. You will meet other attorneys and generate long term friendships, resources and referrals.
4

Lubbock Law Notes

Lubbock Area Bar Association members receive a copy of Lubbock Law Notes quarterly. It includes a calendar of CLE programs and listing of LABA events and other items of interest to members, including employment and office-sharing opportunities. Contact Kristi Ward at lubbocklawnotes@gmail.com for more information.
In addition to the newsletter, you will receive period electronic bulletins with upcoming events and other important information.
5

Committee Participation

LABA has nearly 30 committees, covering numerous issues important to LABA members. The goal of the committees is to enhance the professional lives of LABA members and increase bar services and involvement to the general public. The work of these committees is truly phenomenal, and your contribution on these committees can be one of the most rewarding and productive experiences of being a member of the Lubbock legal community.
6

Social Events

LABA sponsors many enjoyable social activities throughout the year, including a holiday party and a spring family event in conjunction with LCYLA.
